What is the Editable KS2 British Timeline resource?
This pack includes editable British history timelines fully aligned with the National Curriculum. The timelines cover the Stone Age to the Iron Age, Roman Britain, the Anglo-Saxons, the Vikings, and both World War I and World War II. The World Wars are commonly taught as a study of an aspect or theme in British history that extends pupils’ chronological knowledge beyond 1066.
How can the resources be used?
Each period of history has its own timeline, with two timelines per page to make printing easier. Children can cut out the provided labels and glue them onto the timelines.
We recommend that Year 3 pupils place their labels onto a timeline that has already been marked with dates. To show progression, Year 4 pupils could first add their own date markings to a timeline that is set out in 500-year increments, before placing the labels in the correct order.
In addition, there are three different blank timeline templates:
These provide support with adaptive teaching.
