What is included in the pack?

This pack contains a comprehensive set of true or false mathematics questions, each accompanied by a reasoning prompt, for Year 1 through Year 6, fully aligned with the National Curriculum.

To reduce staff workload, all questions are provided on a ready-to-use sticker template. Simply place the stickers into the printer for quick and easy preparation.

Each topic includes 14 carefully designed questions, covering the following areas: Place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, measurement, geometry, statistics and in Year 6, additional coverage includes: ratio and proportion and algebra.

How can the resources be used?

Children read the statement, decide whether it is true or false, and then respond to the reasoning prompt to explain and deepen their thinking.

These questions are ideal for use in a couple of ways:

• After completing their main maths work, the children can select a question independently as an extension or reflection task.
• For children who may find scheme based questions challenging, these statements offer a more accessible way to engage in mathematical reasoning, ensuring that all children have the opportunity to explain their thinking.
• Each year group is colour coded for ease of use: Year 1 is blue, Year 2 is yellow, Year 3 is pink, Year 4 is green, Year 5 is lilac and Year 6 is orange.

The 2025 final Curriculum and Assessment Review highlights the importance of deep understanding and conceptual mastery in mathematics, with reasoning and problem-solving embedded as core elements of effective teaching and learning.
